resulted in creation of learning gaps. Attempts were made to bridge the gap by
use of technology to reach out to children during the pandemic yet the efforts
were not sufficient due to inadequate ICT facilities and low capacity of
educators.
The Director further informed participants that Partners in education delivery have variously supported education secretariat in her effort to ensure continuous learning. UNICEF assisted states and FCT in provision of some multimedia facilities while KOICA and federal ministry of education have variously provided the capacity building programs on online and multimedia education to some education officers.
The capacity
building received by these educators is being stepped down to 272 education
officers made up of 32 key officers of education boards, department, and 240
heads of schools and teachers from selected 48 public schools on online and
multimedia education to step down same to other educators at their boards and
departments, and schools.
The outcomes of the training will be a shift from existing document based administration of education to digital, improved efficiency of school administrative work, educators and evaluators having been equipped with skills and capacity to develop multimedia content to aid teaching and learning and promote learners attitude and skills for remote/online learning.
The
participants at the KOICA 2020&2021 capacity building on education policy
and management programs (Nigeria) and the digital lesson production and
delivery organized by Federal Ministry of Education and National Teachers Institute,
Kaduna have intensively harmonized their
experiences to step down the knowledge for this program
According to
the Director, the training will be conducted in three phases beginning with
